WeChat x MyHelsinki also won the Most Innovative Digital Service award in the Grand One Awards in March

The WeChat x MyHelsinki service got to the second place in ‘The Best Service’ category in the annual Finnish creative design competition: ‘The Best Finnish Creative Design Awards’. The yearly event, which was organised for the 40th time this year, aims to raise the quality of design, strengthen creativity and originality to promote designers’ expertise.

The WeChat x MyHelsinki miniprogram is the first city app to combine preferred personal recommendations, mobility planning and travel ticket purchase options for Chinese travellers. The new service, which will officially launch in May, has been jointly developed by the Chinese Internet service giant Tencent, design consultancy Idean, the City of Helsinki and the Mobility as a Service Pioneer Whim.

“The service has a clear user need that has been studied thoroughly. It combines many user-relevant services across multiple platforms. The user experience has been implemented from start to finish: from inspiration to payment. The operating environment is not new, but the service has been brought to the user in a familiar context. The service has the potential to expand”, the jury commented.

The MyHelsinki mini program will provide Chinese visitors better and easy access to local sights and service providers. The mini program offers Chinese visitors a genuine local experience and more than just the most obvious tourist attractions. MyHelsinki x WeChat also won the Most Innovative Digital Service Award at the Grand One awards at the end of March.
