Krista Huhtala-Jenks appointed Vice-President of MaaS Alliance
MaaS Global’s Head of Ecosystem and Sustainability Krista Huhtala-Jenks has been elected as the Vice-President and Treasurer of the MaaS Alliance’s Board of Directors. The new board was elected for its two-year term earlier in June at the Alliance’s general assembly.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue working with our diverse group of members to further the deployment of MaaS worldwide. The foundation of MaaS is cooperation – with the whole ecosystem working together, playing off each other’s strengths, we’re finding innovative ways to offer attractive and sustainable alternative to the privately owned vehicle” Huhtala-Jenks says.
The Board of Directors acts as the governing body of the Alliance, setting the strategy and the priorities of the organisation together with the members. This is Huhtala-Jenks’ second term as a board member. Looking into the priorities of the Alliance’s work, she states that the coming years will be particularly exciting for MaaS as a concept.
“During the COVID-19 crisis we have seen the true strength of multimodality. I firmly believe that in the next two years, supported by the cooperation in the MaaS Alliance, we will be able to show that MaaS and the open ecosystem model is the sustainable choice, both environmentally and financially. ” Huhtala-Jenks says.
The Mobility as a Service (MaaS) Alliance is a public-private partnership creating the foundations for a common approach to MaaS, unlocking the economies of scale needed for successful implementation and take-up of MaaS in Europe and beyond. Its main goal is to facilitate a single, open market and full deployment of MaaS services.
In the past five years the Alliance has grown to a global network of over 100 members representing all key stakeholders, public and private sector and academia. It is the leading industry association in developing and promoting Mobility as a Service globally.
Mr. Jacob Bansgaard, CEO of ERTICO ITS Europe, was re-elected as the President alongside Ms. Piia Karjalainen’s continued appointment as the MaaS Alliance’s Secretary General.
