Hertz joins the Whim mobility app, providing users with a new service. Hertz plans to offer car rental through Whim also in other countries in the future.
Hertz cars are now available to Whim users. The co-operation increases the number of rental cars and pick-up locations, so Whim can offer even more flexible car rentals to the users. Hertz will bring affordable cars to Whim Urban and Whim Unlimited users, also in the heart of Helsinki, in Töölö.
Hertz envisions that in the future their cars could be rented through Whim in over 140 countries. Hertz cars can be rented either through the monthly packages or through Whim Pay to Go. The monthly packages include car rental at a fixed price, starting at 49 €/day.
”We are glad to include Hertz into our service. Their long history with car rental and the excellent placement of their pick-up locations will make the everyday lives of our customers easier when they need a car. Our co-operation will begin in the Greater Helsinki area, and we plan to expand the service when we open our app to new cities both in Finland and abroad,” says Area Manager Jarkko Jaakkola from MaaS Global.
There are currently two kinds of Hertz rental cars available through Whim – the user can pick either a handy Ford Fiesta or an automatic Volvo V40. It takes only a few clicks to rent a car through the app. The user can pick the car up from one of the Hertz pick-up locations in the Greater Helsinki area or alternatively, from the ones situated in the center of Tampere or Turku.
”Hertz has been involved in different transportation chains for a century. It’s great to participate in a completely new kind of service. We’re eager to see how people will approach Whim and we want to do all we can to make the service succeed. We’re developing integration so that in the future our cars could be rented through Whim in over 140 countries, in all continents,” says Development Manager Jaakko Haikonen from Hertz.
